The new me!

This blog post has been MONTHS in the making, and I am so excited to finally share with you all the fun things that have been going on behind the scenes!

I started my photography business around this time last year with a cute little bird logo.  That logo has treated me well, and I have gotten to meet and photograph a lot of amazing people in the DC/Baltimore area since I started on this journey.  During this year, though, I feel like my style and my photography personality (for lack of a better term) have evolved a lot - this little business is something that brings me a lot of joy, and it’s something I am really proud of.  I have gotten to know a lot about myself during this year, and I wanted my new brand to reflect that.  So to mark the beginning of my second year as Julie Blum Photography, I have (with a lot of help) totally re-vamped my look, from top to bottom.  And I am SO excited to re-introduce you to… well… ME!

For my new logo and my website, I worked with the fabulous design team at mlekoshi, who really got to know me and my style and designed something absolutely perfect.  It has made me so happy to show my new logo to my friends and have them say, “It’s so you!”  I put so much of myself into the photographs that I take for my clients, so it’s wonderful to have a logo and a brand that represents warmth and fun and me.  And I have to admit that when my design team sent me the proofs for my new website… I totally cried.  It was just like I had imagined in my head – only better.  I can’t thank them enough!

In addition to my logo and website, clients will notice some big changes in the way their photos are delivered as well.  I have decided to include custom USB flash drives (instead of CDs) for clients who purchase their entire galleries.  I have put a lot of love and thought into making this experience something for you to enjoy and treasure, and I am thrilled with the finished product!  You should have seen the sheer number of boxes stacked up around my house as I ordered all of this stuff – I think the UPS guy must have wondered what on earth was going on!

Clients who purchase their entire galleries will now receive a sweet little package like this in the mail: a kraft box wrapped in baker’s twine that matches my branding, all sealed with a JBP label. (You can click on any of these photos to make them bigger!)

Inside the box, here is what you’ll see:

Nestled in light pink tissue paper, your goodies include a tin holding your custom USB flash drive, a little package of sweet treats (no, you don’t get to see inside right now – that’s a secret!), and a hand-written note from me.  There will be a couple of other goodies as well – but I am going to keep those to myself and let you be surprised!

Next, a close-up of the USB tin with my custom logo sticker:

And here is the most fun part (at least to me!) – your USB drive!  These swivel-y (I just invented that word; I do that a lot!) flash drives will hold all of the high-resolution, hand-edited images that were presented in your gallery, as well as web-sized copies for you to post online.  Also included in the tin will be a small card with my print release.

I cannot WAIT to package these little boxes up and send them to my clients!  I hope you all like the changes as much as I do!  I am so lucky to have the best clients around and am blessed to have had a wonderful first year, and I can’t wait to see what the future brings.

I would LOVE to hear your thoughts about my new look in the comments!

Sylvie – no, this is just for people who book after today :) People who have booked up until now will still receive a CD when they purchase their gallery.

[...] Julie Blum Photography shares her packaging with us. She just redid her branding, which is quite chic if I do say so myself, and her new packaging is a perfect complement to her branding. [...]

Julie each and every one of these is SO special! Without even knowing each family, one can be so drawn to each photo by the emotion you captured so beautifully! Thank you for sharing!
